With Nature in Mind
a collaboration with Inge Kamps and Axel Schenk at the Kunsthaus Troisdorf, 2024
"With Nature in Mind" is the title of an inspiring exhibition
Inge Kamps, Christel Dillbohner and Axel Schenk use a rather complex concept in their artistic language, which enables the interaction of surfaces and structures in painting, as well as the condensation of motifs in photography or video.
Meditative works are created in ever new variations, their language ranging from abstract forms to homage to the free forces of the laws of nature. True to the motto: discover the strange in the seemingly familiar.
In addition, Axel Schenk, Cologne, Inge Kamps, Windeck and Christel Dillbohner, Berkeley (USA) also want to use their works to encourage a much more vigilant approach to nature and draw attention to the lack of respect in this area. These artists take the public into a world whose themes range from abstract motifs and plant details to landscapes.
No, not a presentation with the lush and smooth beauty of romantic landscapes, here the art of segmentation shines. In color contrasts and also in large white canvases, emotions and color dialogues become motifs, nature as a place of longing yes, landscape and plants as a source of knowledge and the color becomes the energetic carrier of a message.
However, these artists are also united by the fact that, like seismographs, they discover and filter out aspects of nature with a high degree of precision, which then form a new cosmos with its own laws, slightly altered. The collection of motifs around the themes of nature and man and the imagination of how color space concepts can be kept in balance are, among other things, a trademark here.
At the same time, an extensive exhibition has been conceived, featuring a variety of media ranging from painting and video to photography. The title of the exhibition is a reference to the common intersection of motifs.
Experiencing this exhibition will awaken qualities in visitors that obviously characterize these artists themselves: Great openness, a love for unconventional approaches as well as great curiosity.
